Why Queensland Reserves Plumbing for Licence Holders
Queensland runs two licence layers for plumbing and drainage: an occupational licence for the person doing the work, and a contractor licence for the business that takes the job on. The QBCC grants both.
The occupational licence shows the holder is competent in the trade. The contractor licence shows the business behind your job is solvent and properly run. Work the state regulates falls into permit, notifiable and minor categories, and a licensed tradesman must do all three.
